Ela Ada


Ingredients:                                                                       
  1. Rice Powder     2    cups
  2. Coconut grated    2    cups
  3. Jaggery(Sarkkara)     200    g
  4. Cardamom(Elakka) Powder     2    tsp
  5. Water     1    cup
  6. Banana Leaf     4    pieces
Description: 
  1. Make ‘Sarkkarapavu’, by boiling 50ml of water with jaggery.
  2. When it turns to semi liquid, filter and removes the solid particles.
  3. Then mix with grated coconut and cardamom powder.Coconut mix is ready.Keep it aside.
  4. Heat water and salt in a vessel.When it boils well,slowly add the water into rice powder and make a soft dough.
  5. Dough is ready.Make little large size balls.
  6. Flatten the dough on the banana leaf with hand and on the top spread coconut mix.
  7. Fold the banana leaf with content and steam it in Iddly maker.
  8. Cook till both sides are well done and the leaf turn brownish. Serve with warm.
